OpenAI Appoints New CRO Dali Rajic Amid Continued Executive Shake-up to Boost Enterprise Growth

OpenAI has replaced Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser after just nine months on the job, tapping Wiz former president and COO Dali Rajic to lead the frontier lab's commercial sales operation.

The move comes as part of a broader shake-up in the organization over the last month, which has seen the departures of COO Brad Lightcap and the company’s No. 2 executive, AGI deployment CEO Fidji Simo.

OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman has taken on a larger role in management following Simo’s departure, officially announcing Rajic’s arrival in a blog post today. Rajic's previous employer, Wiz, was famously linked to a massive $32 billion acquisition interest by Google earlier this year, highlighting his extensive experience in scaling high-value enterprise pipelines.

“Denise has led our revenue organization through a formative period for the business,” Brockman wrote. “The way we’re deploying this technology is changing rapidly, and Dali will turn what we’ve learned into repeatable execution as we build out the full system to make AI broadly useful.” Although #OpenAI claims its products reach over 1 billion weekly active users and 2 million businesses, executives have privately and publicly hinted that the company has not yet achieved its ambitious revenue targets.

Ahead of a potential IPO, OpenAI has reportedly filed confidentially with the SEC. While the exact timeline remains unclear, the company also executed a $7 billion employee share tender offer this week, allowing staff to cash in equity. This strategy aligns with CEO Sam Altman's ongoing effort to focus the organization on enterprise deployment and scale back on exploratory R&D projects that distract from direct commercial outcomes.

[AgentUpdate Depth Analysis] This leadership shuffle and the hiring of Dali Rajic, a seasoned enterprise software executive, signal a watershed moment where OpenAI shifts its operational priority from raw research to commercial execution. In the evolving AI Agent ecosystem, the winner will not be determined solely by raw LLM performance, but by the ability to deliver secure, repeatable, and deeply integrated Agentic workflows into enterprise environments. Rajic's expertise at Wiz, dealing with high-security B2B sales, is critical for deploying enterprise-grade AI Agents that require strict data privacy, SOC 2 compliance, and multi-agent orchestration. This transition implies that the industry's next battleground lies in building repeatable enterprise agent architectures, shifting the ecosystem's gravity from pure foundation models to specialized, high-reliability commercial implementations.
